The present invention provides a portable telephone with automatic answering/calling function which stores telephone numbers of callers when receiving call signals from the callers when a user is in a situation where a telephone conversation is impossible and then performs a dialling with the stored telephone numbers automatically. This portable telephone includes a mode setting part, a key input part, a signal receiving part, a time part, a microcomputer controlling the overall operation of the mode setting part, the key input part, the signal receiving part, and the time part, an oscillation generator, a telephone storing part, an answering message storing part, a message regenerating part, a transmitting/receiving call signal processing part, a display, and a dialing circuit.
