The device is installed on a gas range having a high risk of fire to generate an instant alarm and interrupt gas supply with the automatic start of the fire extinguishing operation in the event of fire. The device includes; a gas interruption unit having a gas interrupter(12) connecting with a temperature sensor(7) on the range hood(2) and a speaker(9) via a sound alarm(11) and to a gas valve(14), a fire extinguishing unit(11) having a fire extinguisher(5) fixed in the housing(4a) and connecting with a nozzle(3) on the hood(2) via its spout(8) and a pipe(6) and having an actuation lever(16) connecting with a fuse blink(22) via a wire(18) and a wire breaker(21).
