摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electro-optic device which is an electro-optic device having an electro-optic panel and with which a structure allowing the miniaturization, especially the reduction in the thickness of the device may be embodied by changing the base stocks and shapes of respective parts and overheating may be prevented by improving the heat radiatability of the device. SOLUTION: This device has a liquid crystal panel 10 and a case body 20 housing the same. Transparent substrates 3 and 4 are surface-to-surface adhered to the panel surface of the liquid crystal panel 10. These transparent substrates 3 and 4 consist of single crystal sapphire. The transparent substrates are surface-to-surface adhered onto the panel surface of the electro-optic panel and at least the outside surface side parts of the transparent substrates are composed of the single crystal sapphire having the thermal conductivity as extremely high as >=20 to 30 times that of various kinds of glass, etc., by which the heat radiatability of the electro-optic panel is improved as a result of the improving in the thermal conductivity of the transparent substrates and the temperature distribution within the panel of the electro-optic panel is relieved and, therefore, the deterioration in the image quality by the overheating and temperature distribution may be lessened. In addition, the increase in energy consumption, noise, etc., by the intensification of cooling means may be suppressed.
