PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity while causing little problems such as intrinsic desensitization, suppression in development or afterimage by incorporating a silver halide emulsion in which dye chromophores are adsorbed in one or more layers on the surface of silver halide particles. SOLUTION: The photosensitive material contains a silver halide emulsion in which dye chromophores are adsorbed in more than one layers to the surface of silver halide particles. Preferably, this dye has at least one aromatic group. The dye is preferably expressed by the formula. In the formula, each of D1 and D2 is a dye chromophore, L1 is a divalent connecting group or single bond, each of q and r is an integer 1 to 100, M1 is a counter ion for equilibrium charges, and m1 is a number necessary to neutralize the charges in the molecule. The dye chromophores are preferably adsorbed in >=1.2 layers, more preferably >=1.5 layers, and especially preferably >=1.7, and most preferably >=2 layers on the silver halide particle. The upper limit of the layers is not specified, however, the upper limit is <=100 layers, and more preferably <=10 layers.
