PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel DNA which comprises a vector that contains a specific base sequence and is expressed specifically in the brain, expresses an extraneous gene in neurocytes, particularly neurocytes in the brain and is used for the gene therapy or the like of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease or the like. SOLUTION: This novel vector comprises the base sequence represented by the formula and is expressed specifically in the brain. The vector expresses an extraneous gene brain-specifically by inserting the allien gene into the lower stream of a transcription control sequence present in the upper stream of P/Q- type Ca channel gene expressed only in the brain and is useful in the gene therapy or the like of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease or the like. This DNA is obtained by screening out a mammals genomic DNA library by mans of using a cDNA of P/Q-type Ca channel alA subunit or the like as a probe and examining the base sequence to select the clone containing the above Ca channel alA subunit-coding domain and its upper stream sequence. |
