PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven power steering device providing driving of a motor after an engine start even when an engine speed signal or a vehicle speed signal cannot be obtained. SOLUTION: A motor controller 12 outputting a control signal of the motor 10 applying steering assistance torque to a steering system of a vehicle has an ACG start detecting part 12K detecting a start of an ac generator 19 on the basis of a power source line voltage PS fed via an ignition switch 17 and an engine start estimating part 12L estimating an engine start by an ac generator start detection signal of the ACG start detecting part 12K. Feeding to the motor 10 is started by an engine start estimation signal from the engine start estimating part 12L.
