PURPOSE: A method for controlling an infrared clinical thermometer is provided to increase the usage convenience and improve the accuracy of decision by dividing automatically an interest object from a photographed image and interpreting an image of the interest object. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(10) includes a keyboard and a mouse for receiving data from a user. A storing unit(20) stores programs and data. A control unit(30) controls the whole operation of the infrared clinical thermometer. A scanning unit(42) performs an infrared photographing. A scanner driving unit(41) operates the scanning unit(42) under the control of the control unit(30). A focus driving unit(50) controls the focus of the scanning unit(42) under the control of the control unit(30). A display driving unit(61) drives a display unit(62) for displaying the image under the control of the control unit(30). An output unit(71) drives a printer(72) for printing the image and all sorts of information.
