PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepreg having excellent impregnating properties by improving finely dividing properties and uniform dispersibility of components in a resin varnish during the production of a thermosetting resin-impregnated prepreg and a method for obtaining a laminate providing better characteristics of a cured product. SOLUTION: This method for producing the prepreg is characterized by treating a liquid or a slurry resin composition consisting essentially of a thermosetting resin and a curing agent with a high-speed stirring device rotating at >=15 m/s peripheral speed and impregnating a substrate with the resultant resin varnish.
