The device (1) includes a clevis fixing (9) equipped with a plate (10) on which adjustable fixings (15) are arranged on a support element or vehicle body (3), and a support (11) of the articulating axis (13) of the connection arm (8) on the clevis fixing that is displaced towards an articulating element, e.g. vehicle door (2), in relation to the fixing axis (Q) of the plate. The clevis fixing is situated in a plane parallel with the plate so that in a door open position, the respective points of the rotational axis of a retaining wheel (7), the articulating axis of the connecting arm and the fixation axis of the clevis fixing on the vehicle body are aligned.
