The invention relates to a method and a device for reprocessing a polymer-containing latex dispersion, particularly a latex dispersion containing acrylonitrile butadiene styrene polymers, into polymer powder. In the claimed method, the latex is coagulated under the effect of heat by adding, thoroughly mixing, and/or shearing a coagulating agent, especially an acid and/or an electrolyte, the volatile auxiliary agents and remaining monomers are optionally removed using steam distillation, the obtained suspension is cooled in a cooling step, and the moist polymer is mechanically separated and/or thermally dried to polymer powder in a subsequent step. Said method is characterized in that the cooling step comprises indirect cooling by means of a heat exchanger. |
