PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for activating an information display panel by which an information display panel capable of preventing the degradation of a contrast ratio over a long period of time and durable for real use for a long period of time can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the method for activating the information display panel for displaying information of an image or the like by sealing at least one sort or more of display media 3 composed of at least one sort or more of particles and having optical reflectance and chargeability into a space between two opposed substrates 1, 2 at least one of which is transparent and moving the display media by an electric field generated by application of voltage between electrodes 5, 6 provided to the respective substrates, activating processing for moving the display media is performed by applying the voltage between the electrodes while inverting polarity of these electrodes at a prescribed interval after manufacturing the panel.
