PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particles for image display media which have a uniform particle size and spherical shapes and are charged very stably and have uniform electrophoretic characteristics, a manufacturing method of the particles for image display media, and a particle movement type image display medium and an image display device which use the particles for image display media and are capable of displaying an image of high contrast. SOLUTION: The particles for image display media are used in an image display medium, having at least one kind of particles between two substrates facing each other and containing at least a binder resin, a colorant, and a fluorine-containing surfactant and have F/C of 0.8 to 1.2, where F is the number of fluorine atoms and C is the number of carbon atoms on particle surfaces.
