Disclosed is a method for producing a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer (FEP), which enables to reduce production cost, while improving production efficiency. Also disclosed is a method for producing an FEP which enables to produce an FEP having excellent electrical characteristics by fluorinating an unstable group of an FEP. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer, which is characterized by comprising a step (1) wherein tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene are polymerized in an aqueous medium in the presence of diisopropylperoxydicarbonate, and a step (2) wherein the tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer obtained in the step (1) is fluorinated.
