PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus capable of relaxing an impact applied to an image carrier and a transfer member when the image carrier and transfer member are released from being held apart from each other with simple constitution.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus has a first gear 16 rotating together with an image carrier 6, and a second gear 17 provided movably together with the transfer member 7 and engaging the first gear 16 to rotate. The second gear 17 has a first gear part 17a engaging the first gear 16 with the transfer member 7 at a separate position, a release part 17b allowing disengagement from the first gear 16 with the transfer member 7 at an abutting position, and a second gear part located between the first gear part 17a and release part 17b. Then the second gear part is smaller in pitch circle radius at a part adjoining the release part 17b than the first gear part 17a, and has a part which gradually decreases in pitch circle radius from the side of the first gear part 17a toward the part adjoining the release part 17b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
