PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the difficulty of authentication of an access source other than a specific person.SOLUTION: An authentication apparatus 20 includes: a display control section 21 for causing display means 11 to display a plurality of images PCT read from storage means 30 that stores the images PCT and character strings STR in association with each other, so as to be selected, in authenticating an access source; a receiving section 22 which receives selections on the displayed images PCT; and a determination section 23 which determines authentication success when the images PCT are selected in the order where a predetermined number of last characters of a character string STR associated with a selected image PCT coincides with a predetermined number of leading characters of a character string STR associated with an image PCT selected next the above selected image PCT.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
