PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly-reliable light-emitting device excellent in light extraction although it has a simple structure.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device comprises a base including a wiring layer on the first principal surface thereof, a light-emitting element flip-chip mounted on the wiring layer and emitting light with a wavelength of an ultraviolet region, and a protection film continuously covering the light-emitting element and the first principal surface of the base. The protection film is provided by an atom deposition method, and covers the portion between the light-emitting device and the first principal surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B |
