The invention relates to a chair, in particular an office chair or a child or juvenile chair, comprising a seat body arrangement (11) providing a seating surface (14), which is supported by way of a column support arrangement (30) extending along a longitudinal axis (L) on a base frame (15) suitable for parking the chair (10) on a base (U), and a column support arrangement (30) having a height adjustment element (34) extending along the longitudinal axis (L). Said height adjustment element has a first column part (34a) supported by the base frame (15), and a second column part (34b) that is adjustable with respect to the first column part (34a) in the direction of the longitudinal axis (L) for adjusting the longitudinal distance of the seat (14) to the pedestal (15) with respect to the longitudinal axis (L) for adjusting a seat height (H) of the seating surface (14) above the base (U). According to the invention the base frame has a height adjustment device (24), by way of which the first column part (34a) can be releasably fastened to the base frame (15) in at least two mutually different longitudinal positions with respect to the longitudinal axis (L). |
