APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A PRESSURE AND FLOW OF HP PUMP INLET IN A SHIP

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method to control the pressure and flow rate of a high pressure pump inlet of a vessel, which is able to: maintain a pressure to be equal to or more than the minimum pressure set in advance for the pressure of the high pressure pump inlet of the vessel; and maintain the flow rate of the high pressure pump inlet to be equal to or more than the minimum flow rate of the high pressure pump. The apparatus for controlling the pressure and flow rate of a high pressure pump inlet of a vessel according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first valve which is installed in a fuel storage tank return line connected to a fuel storage tank by branching out from a stripping main pipe where the fuel of the fuel storage tank is transferred to the high pressure pump by a stripping pump in front of the high pressure pump inlet; a pressure controller which enables the pressure of the high pressure pump inlet to be increased by controlling the first valve so that the first valve is more closed than the current state if the pressure of the high pressure pump inlet is equal to or less than a pressure setting value set in advance; and a flow rate controller which controls the flow rate of the stripping main pipe by controlling a second valve installed in a pipe connected to the stripping main pipe from the stripping pump if the flow rate of the stripping main pipe is equal to or more than a first flow rate setting value or a second flow rate setting value, wherein the first flow rate setting value and the second flow rate setting value are set in advance and the second flow rate setting value is greater than the first flow rate setting value.
