摘要 FIELD: machine building.SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for continuous production of toner particles using a double-screw extruder. Method involves: mixing one or more latexes and other optional components such as wax, a dye, a surfactant to form a toner reaction mixture containing particles, introduction of the mixture in a double-screw extruder, bringing the mixture pH to a value of about 4, addition of an aggregation agent at the pH of about 4, increasing the mixture temperature to not more than 48 °C, transportation of the mixture along the length of the extruder to ensure aggregation of particles to form a unit of particles, freezing the aggregation and coalescence of the aggregated particles to form particles of toner in the extruder, removal of the coalescent particles from the extruder and cooling the toner particles and, optionally, sorting the cooled particles by size, washing the cooled or sorted by size particles, drying the cooled, sorted by size or washed toner particles. Thus the obtained toner particles have the size of not more than 4 µm.EFFECT: this method allows continuous process of producing toner particles without locking the extruder elements with reagents, components or products, such as solid particles, also increases output of the ready product, saves time and costs, and also results in good mass and heat exchange.19 cl
