PURPOSE:To display easily and adequately the residual capacity of a storage battery from the relations among the terminal voltage of the battery during open-circuit, the terminal voltage in the stage of discharging and the discharge time thereof. CONSTITUTION:If the values of a resistor 52 and others are so selected as to attain an H level when, for example, the output of an OP amplifier 6 detects the discharge current for 5HR, a timer 13 is required to output pulses at the gap at which the total residual capacity 100% can be counted down to 0% indication in the discharge time of 5HR discharge, that is, in 5hr at the same instant when the output of the amplifier 6 attains the H level. Here, an up/down counter part 11 receives 15 pulses and displays the total capacity in the state of 15; therefore, one pulse is outputted in 20min obtd. by dividing 5hr by 15. When the drop in the battery voltage increases on increasing of the discharge current and the output of the amplifier 7 attains the H level, a switch IC 17 goes on and a resistor 60 and a resistor 61 are connected in parallel. The discharge time rate is detected according to the increase in the discharge current in the above-mentioned way, and the output pulses of the timer 13 are controlled so as to indicate the discharge time corresponding to the time rate; therefore, even if the discharge time rate changes, the residual capacity is indicated without any error. |
