The invention relates to an actuating drive for fittings or the like, with a diaphragm (4) which can be acted upon by means of pressure medium, is arranged in a housing (2) and is connected via a diaphragm plate (8) to a movable spindle (14). There is the demand for a rotary movement to be produced directly with the actuating drive without complicated external lever deflections or the like being required for this. To achieve this object it is proposed that the diaphragm plate (8) be connected to the spindle (14) via a central screw-thread drive for converting a linear movement of the diaphragm plate (8) into a rotary movement of the spindle (14) and that the spindle (14) be arranged in a rotatable and axially fixed manner in the housing (2) by means of bearings (16). <IMAGE>
