The bag has a seam (7) closing the sleeve material at one end and at least two side folds (5,6) on opposite sides with regard to a cross sectional center plane of the bag. The side folds may be of the same width, or may have different widths with at least two on each side of the bag having a different width, and with the narrower folds provided outside the wider folds. An independent claim is included for a sleeve of sheet material for the manufacture of the proposed bags with the aforesaid side folds.
