<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing process using a recording element which has improved durability after printing. <P>SOLUTION: An ink jet printer responsive to a digital data signal is prepared. An ink jet recording element, which comprises a support covered with an image receiving layer containing a polymer of a specified contact angle, is loaded to this printer. An ink jet ink composition is loaded to the above-mentioned printer and an image formed recording elements is prepared by printing, on the image receiving layer in response to the digital data signal, using the ink jet ink. Further, the above-mentioned image formed recording element is heated sufficiently so as to bring on the polymer layer an increase in the contact angle by at least 15 degrees. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
