PURPOSE: To provide a means capable of producing a molded article from a composite material consisting of a thermoplastic binder and cellulose or oligocellulose having strength characteristics hard to receive the effect of the circumferential temp. as compared with the prior arts, having air permeability over the total surface thereof and capable of being laminated by all of methods belonging to the prior arts. CONSTITUTION: A fiber mat preformed from a mixture of cellulose and/or lignocellulose fibers with more than 20 wt.% of a thermal binder is heated and pressed to obtain a molded article. The fiber mat is subjected to preliminary compression as a planar and endless mat fiber fleece in a first step. The fiber mat is heated to at least the start-off temp. of the fiber finish in the form of a blank or a web in a second step. Compression is carried out before shaping of the molded article. |
