PURPOSE:To obtain a jointing method for belt and a fusion joiner therefor in which the fusion welding cycle can be shortened without causing imbalance in the temperature distribution. CONSTITUTION:A part to be jointed of a belt is preheated by an external heating means, e.g. an electric heater, and then heated by means of an internal heating means, e.g. a high frequency heater, thus jointing the belt while pressing. The preheating temperature is set lower by 40-50 deg.C than the softening temperature of belt. The fusion jointer comprises a high frequency oscillator 6, electrodes 4a, 4b connected therewith, a press 5 for pressing the belt 1 placed between the electrodes 4a, 4b, and electric heater boards 3a, 3b disposed between the electrodes 4a, 4b on the opposite sides of the belt 1. |
