<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner with which an image of high quality can be obtained in the use for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic toner is used for an image forming method having a developing and cleaning process and includes toner particles containing at least a binding resin and a magnetic body and conductive particulates; and the maximum intensity (V/μm) of an alternating electric field, applied to a toner carrier, in development, the frequency (Hz) of the AC component of the alternating electric field, and the peripheral speed (mm/sec) of the toner carrier satisfy the relation shown by expression (1) and the Carr floodability index and Carr fluidity index of the toner satisfy the relation shown by expression (2). Here, expression (1) is 22≤(frequency of alternating electric field/peripheral speed of toner carrier)×maximum electric field intensity in development≥120 and expression (2) is 8≤(frequency of alternating electric field/peripheral speed of toner carrier)×(Carr floodability index/Carr fluidity index)≤50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
