Recycling used toner cartridges from PC- printers or photocopiers comprises first introducing the empty cartridges contg. residual toner dust into a container contg. methyl salicylate and/or camphene (C10 monoterpene), terpene alcohols and terpene aldehydes as solvent to dissolve the toner dust, then after 0.25 hrs. removing the cartridges from the solvent and comminuting them.
