PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal is used and a high quality display image can be obtd. and to provide a production method for the liquid crystal display device, by improving the light absorption efficiency of a dye included in the liquid crystal. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is equipped with a polymer dispersion liquid crystal layer 14 prepared by dispersing liquid crystal molecules in a polymer material, plural pixel electrodes 13 formed on one principal plane of the polymer dispersion liquid crystal layer, and a common electrode 16 formed on the other principal plane of the polymer dispersion liquid crystal layer, and TFT 11 to drive the pixel electrodes. The liquid crystal molecules in the polymer dispersion liquid crystal layer 14 are oriented parallel to the principal plane of the polymer dispersion liquid crystal layer 14. |
