PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which is capable of stably maintaining the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules in respective orientation regions of the liquid crystal display element having the plural orientation regions and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: Walls 7 are formed at the boundaries of the plural liquid crystal orientation regions A, B, C, D of the liquid crystal display element having the plural liquid crystal orientation regions A, B, C, D held with liquid crystals between two sheets of substrates. These walls are formed by using photosetting resins. The interaction between the different liquid crystal orientation regions A, B, C, D is eliminated and the liquid crystal molecules in the respective orientation regions are stably held by forming the walls 7 at the boundaries of the plural liquid crystal orientation regions A, B, C, D. |
