PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera using an automatic focusing beam which does not utilize excessive electric power to suppress such danger that an object, a human being or an animal in a scenery is damaged or injured. SOLUTION: The camera 10 is provided with a camera main body, an objective lens 14 receiving light from the scenery 34 and focusing it on a focal plane in the camera main body. First of all, the electric power is received by an emitter 18 and the beam 66 reflected from the object 32 in the scenery 34 by being directed along the optical axis of the lens 14 as a whole is generated. Next, the intensity level of one part of the beam reflected from the object 32 is measured by a sensor 22. When the intensity level measured by the sensor 22 is different from a prescribed level, the electric power outputted from the emitter 18 is adjusted by an emitter control part 42. |
