PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide transmission diversity. SOLUTION: A first radio station (base station) successively switches the characteristics of a transmission antenna system 5 and transmits test signals and the number intrinsic to the characteristics of the antenna system from the transmission antenna system 5. In the number selection part 21 of a second radio station (portable equipment), the number intrinsic to the antenna characteristics of the best reception quality is selected from the output of a bit error rate measurement part 17, an electric field strength measurement part 18 and a number read part 20 and is transmitted to the first radio station along with transmission information. In the first radio station which receives the selected number, the characteristics of the transmission antenna system 5 are switched to the selected antenna characteristics and information is transmitted. The test signals and the number intrinsic to the characteristics of the antenna system can be added to the transmission information and transmitted. |
