PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical double-layer capacitor carbon material which has greater storage capacity for electrochemical energy and improved electrostatic capacitance. SOLUTION: The is manufacturing method of electrical double-layer capacitor carbon material comprises a halogenating processing, where carbonized coal is brought into contact with a halogen gas to obtain halogenated carbonized coal, a dehalogenating processing where part or whole of halogen in halogenated carbonized coal is separated, and an activation processing where part of the carbon material subject to the dehalogenating processing is gasified. Further, the manufacturing method of a carbon electrode is constituted of a process where carbonized coal is subject to the halogenating processing, the dehalogenating processing, and the activation processing, and a process in which a carbon electrode is obtained by impregnating the carbon material in an organic electrolyte. |
