PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a document into proper form by retrieving a document rewrite vocabulary as a clue to rewriting from the document and rewriting the document according to the document rewrite vocanbulary. SOLUTION: A rewrite data base 165 in a storage device 16 stores document rewrite vocabularies as clues to document rewriting and knowledge base in table form used for rewriting. In addition to a document prepared through input operation on a keyboard 12, various documents such as a document read out of a storage medium driving device 17 with a document which is generated outside and stored on a specific storage medium, a document which is already stored in the document data base, a document downloaded from a communication controller 18, and a document which is recognized by a character recognition device 20 are obtained as object documents as sources of retrieve. A document rewrite vocabulary as a clue to rewriting is retrieved and the document is rewritten on the basis of the retrieved document rewrite vocabulary. |
