FIELD: sports. SUBSTANCE: method involves registering biopotentials of sportsman's muscles during performing of basic and special exercises; making shoots; taking anthropometric measurements; determining periods of electric activity of muscles, relative length and muscle contraction rate; plotting muscle phase trajectory. Method is based on calculating special exercise effectiveness and adequacy criteria. Effectiveness criterion is calculated on the basis of ratio of maximum rates during performing special and main exercises. Adequacy criterion is evaluated on the basis of comparison of muscle phase trajectories in "relative length-muscle contraction rate" coordinates, and correspondence of muscle electrical activity during performing of main and special exercises. When special exercise is effective in development of speed-force characteristics (Ce > 1) and, besides, it is immensely adequate to main exercise (Ca <EMI ID=0.365 HE=3 WI=3 TI=CHI>0.65), this exercise may be referred to as joint action exercise, i.e. exercise allowing technical and physical preparedness of sportsman to be increased.
