摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-layered recording medium wherein the cooling performance of the recording medium and repetitive recording characteristics can be enhanced and a recording capacity can be made twice as compared to a conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: In the medium wherein recording and reproduction are performed at two recording layer structure bodies 101 and 201, the first recording layer structure body 101 has a first radiation layer 107 formed by using Ag as a main constituent material on a ZnS-SiO<SB>2</SB>layer and provided on a side opposite to a laser beam incident side, the second recording layer structure body 201 has the same layer structure as the first recording layer structure body has except the first radiation layer 107 and a second radiation layer 207 composed of a metal material is provided at a part coming in contact with the second recording layer structure body 201 a substrate. The first and second recording layer structure bodies are layered via an intermediate radiation layer 108 coming in contact with the first radiation layer 107 and a separation layer 109 coming in contact with the second recording layer structure body side. The heat capacity of the total recording layer structure bodies is made lower than that of the substrate, and writing laser power to the second recording layer structure body is made intenser than that to the first recording layer structure body. The ratio t/T1 of the thickness of the intermediate radiation layer to the thickness of the first recording layer structure body is specified to be 0.2 to 1.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
