<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin gas diffusion layer substrate for a fuel cell with high gas diffusibility and high electric conductivity, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This gas diffusion layer substrate for the fuel cell comprises a textile fabric having an open area ratio of 5% or less and comprising carbonized multifilaments having a fineness of 30-1000 dtex, and the number of filaments of 20-2500. The gas diffusion layer substrate of the fuel cell is manufactured by baking the textile fabric comprising flame resistant filaments having a fineness of 50-1800 dtex, and the number of filaments of 20-2500. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
