PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering control device which detects the abnormal condition of a torque detecting means accurately, without a fear of generating an undesirable auxiliary steering force in the abnormality detecting time. SOLUTION: When a steering torque detecting value T is abnormal continuously until the first deciding time, the transmission of an auxiliary steering force instruction value TA from the operation means 5 in a control means 4 to a driving means 6 is made invalid. When the abnormal condition is recovered before reaching to the second deciding time, after the steering torque detecting value T is made abnormal continuously until the first deciding time, the transmission of the auxiliary steering force instruction value TA made invalid is recovered. And when the steering torque detecting value T is abnormal continuously to the above second deciding time over the first deciding time, the electric power feeding to a power converting means 7 in the control means 4 from a power source 8 is cut off by opening a cutoff means 12. |
