PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve degree of freedom of vehicle design by providing a second housing part having an outer shape larger than that of a first housing part, arranging a power generation part having a rotating member within the second housing part, and arranging a position detection part for detecting the rotating position of the rotating member within the first housing part. SOLUTION: A rack housing is formed by serially connecting a small cylindrical part 8a as first housing part to a large cylindrical part 8b as second housing. A brush-less motor 23 is included in the large cylindrical part 8b. On the other hand, a rotating position detecting resolver 27 is provided in the small cylindrical part 8a on the circumference close to the left end of the rotor 23c of the brush-less motor 23. According to this, the resolver 27 can be arranged within the small cylindrical part 8a since the outer diameter of the resolver 27 is smaller than the outer diameter of the resolver 27. Accordingly, the axial length of the large cylindrical part 8b can be reduced. Thus, the vehicle design in the circumference of the rack housing can be facilitated. |
