PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit stable torsion damping performance by preventing the increase of friction torque even when a drive plate and a hub plate are relatively displaced in the axial direction in a torsional vibration damping device. SOLUTION: This torsional vibration damping device is provided with an approximately disc-shaped hub plate 4; a drive plate 5 disposed facing the hub plate 4; spring storage parts formed in the respective corresponding positions of the plates 4, 5; and a spring 3 disposed in the spring storage parts to connect the hub plate 4 and drive plate 5 in a relatively rotatable manner. The inner peripheral side of the drive plate 5 is provided with a projecting part 5b spaced when both plates 4, 5 are disposed in the normal positions and brought into contact when the axial relative positions of both plates 4, 5 change in the mutually approaching direction.
