<p>A flange alignment tool (10) comprises a shank (23) having at least two shank sections (30), each shank section (30) being aligned with adjacent shank sections (30) at their periphery to define a straight edge (35) extending longitudinally along the shank (23), the shank sections (30) being of different dimensions in a direction transverse to said edge (35). The flange alignment tool (10) also comprises a rotation means in the form of a head (27), provided at one end of the shank (23) to permit selective rotation of the shank (23) about a longitudinal axis thereof. In one arrangement the flange aligning tool (10) is used for aligning flanges (11, 12) such that bolt holes (13) in one flange are brought into registration for aligning corresponding bolt holes (13) in the other flange to receive bolt assemblies (15) for bolting the flanges together.</p> |
