Water control device for a plant pot for ornamental fish breeding comprises an inner pot (20) with a tubular protrusion (210) on the base which produces a connection with the intermediate space (H1) between the outer pot (10) and the inner pot and is connected with the water control device. The water control device has a tube (50) connected at one end to a bushing (53) for the protrusion and at the other end to a float (52). The tube has a slit (51) which widens when the water level and the float sink so that the water in the intermediate chamber can float into the intermediate chamber (H2) of the inner pot.
