PURPOSE: A line testing method using a remote control line tester is provided to remotely conduct various tests for communication lines, and to inform a tester of tested results as a voice, thereby deciding whether a line is inferior and switching the inferior line into a superior line. CONSTITUTION: An ID is inputted through a dial button after connecting with a control line(200-204). A system perceives whether a current state of a remote control line tester is switched or a tone signal and a ring signal are delivered(208). If the remote control line tester is in idle state(210), the system supplies a message for selecting a measurement target line, and if a user inputs a line selection by using the dial button, a message for the selection is outputted(218-222). If a test item input message is provided, the user selects a test item(224). A selection message is outputted(226,228). Measured results on each test item are outputted through an LCD and an embedded speaker(230). When a line switching operation is selected(232), a message for switching or not is delivered, and if the switching operation is terminated, and then if a switching to a failure line is performed, a result message informing that the switching to the failure line is being performed is delivered, and if a switching to a reserved line is performed, a result message informing that the switching to the reserved line is being performed is delivered(234-238). Various tests for a telephone line are conducted in a remote place to decide whether the telephone line is superior or inferior(240).
