PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adduct compound for a wetting agent or a dispersant which can disperse and stabilize a pigment or a filler effectively and can lower the viscosity so that processing is possible even if the amount of the adduct compound is high, to provide a preparing process therefor, and to obtain a pigment or a filler coated with the adduct compound and a pigment paste containing the adduct compound. SOLUTION: The adduct compound (a), which is used as the wetting agent or the dispersant, is obtained by a reaction between (i) a monofunctional or polyfunctional aromatic epoxide and (ii) a polyoxyalkylene monoamine having a number-average molecular weight larger than 400 g/mol, and having one primary or secondary amine group and at least four ether-linked oxygen atoms per molecule. In this adduct compound, (b) 90-100% of the initial epoxide group is reacted and (c) the weight ratio of aromatic groups in the adduct compound is not more than 50%.
