PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulverizer which attains increase of impact pulverization efficiency in a pulverizing chamber of the pulverizer and pulverizes particles with high efficiency within a range of required grain size in the pulverizer of a particle such as toner, and to provide a pulverization method. SOLUTION: The pulverizer has: the pulverizing chamber in which particle raw materials supplied by compressed air injected from two or more pulverizing nozzles are pulverized; and a rotor disposed at an upper part of the pulverizing chamber. The particle raw materials flowing into the inside of the rotor from the pulverizing chamber is classified by centrifugation to fine powder and coarse powder. In the pulverizer, each pulverizing nozzle is provided so that compressed air streams injected from these two or more pulverizing nozzles primarily collide with each other while carrying the particle materials, and a space blocking means for eliminating the spaces between these two or more pulverizing nozzles is provided.
