<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer controller and an engine control section in which interface operation can be checked without performing imaging processing. <P>SOLUTION: The printer controller and the engine control section are provided with first and second video interface check mode control sections 315 and 316 for checking the interface operation. In the check mode, the second video interface check mode control sections 316 outputs an interface signal in response to a command being provided from the first video interface check mode control sections 315.
