PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a misfire judging device of an internal combustion engine which can clearly distinguish the misfire of the engine and a vibrating phenomenon generated at the time of rough road running or after the misfire, and is high in a reliability of the misfire judgment. SOLUTION: The device judges that a possibility, in which the misfire might occurred, has occurred when a varying amount in revolutionΔNE of the engine exceeds a designated threshold value N1. The above-mentioned misfire is judged to have occurred when a difference exceeds the designated value by comparing the varying amount of revolution, at the time of expanding process of cylinder which reaches the expanding process at an ignition timing 2 times after the ignition timing of the cylinder having the possibility of the misfire, with that of the expanding process of the cylinder which reaches the expanding process at the ignition timing 3 times after the initial ignition timing.
