A composition for treating and preventing atopic dermatitis and a method for preparing thereof are provided to improve atopic dermatitis-treating effects, and avoid side effects of the application by using natural medicinal herbs. The composition for treating and preventing atopic dermatitis comprises (a) 10-30 parts by weight of extracts of Artemisia capillaris Thunberg, Bletilla striata and Chrysanthemum morifolium RAMAT., (b) 5-55 parts by weight of Sesamum indicum L. oil, and (c) 5-50 parts by weight of candelilla wax, wherein the mixing ratio of Artemisia capillaris Thunberg, Bletilla striata and Chrysanthemum morifolium RAMAT. is 1:1:1. The method for preparing the composition for treating and preventing atopic dermatitis comprises the steps of: (a) extracting Artemisia capillaris Thunberg, Bletilla striata and Chrysanthemum morifolium RAMAT. in ethyl alcohol at 20 deg.C for 50-70 days; (b) filtering the extracts, collecting the supernatant, concentrating the supernatant under vacuum condition, and collecting the undiluted solution of medicinal herbs: (c) mixing the crude solution of medicinal herbs with Sesamum indicum L. oil and candelilla wax at 80 deg.C for 3 hours; and (d) cooling and drying the mixture at room temperature.
