An installation and removal device comprising an installation head and a pol e extension for a magnet anchor comprising a magnet having a ring of a predetermined diameter tethered to the magnet. The installation head compris es an elongated, non-magnetic cylindrical body having a cylindrical lug at one end for receiving and supporting the magnet anchor ring and a hook in the shape of a corkscrew extending laterally from the cylindrical body. A thread ed socket is formed at the opposite end of the cylindrical body for removably attaching an elongated pole.
