PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately execute a blank skip in a printing method for printing an image by using a printing head in which a group of nozzles with aligned nozzles is inclined to the alignment direction by an angleθof inclination and is under a shifted condition to the conveying direction. SOLUTION: By performing a plurality of times of cycles executing alternately a dot forming operation delivering ink from the nozzles and a conveying operation for conveying a medium to the downstream side, a dot row along the moving direction is formed on every ink color. When a group of the nozzles positioned at the uppermost stream is made a first reference nozzle group, and the nozzle group shifted by an amount of mutual shift in the conveying direction to the first reference nozzle group is made the other nozzle group, it is judged whether a range of a region wherein the dot row can be formed by the first reference nozzle group belongs to the other nozzle group blank region wherein the dot row is not formed by the other nozzle group. When it is judged on all the other nozzle groups that the range belongs to the other nozzle group blank region, the dimension of the blank region of all the nozzle groups is calculated, to determine the amount of conveying of the k-th conveying operation.
