PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a printed matter which can be applicable to a flexible substrate such as a plastic film, in particular, to a longitudinal flexible substrate excellent in productivity, is excellent in reproducibility of a highly precise pattern, and can be continuously printed by a roll-to-roll system. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the printed matter is characterized by comprising a process wherein an ink liquid film 30 is formed on a cylinder 1, a process wherein by pressing a rotatable relief printing plate 23 in which a pattern of projecting parts is a non-image pattern onto the ink liquid film 30 on the cylinder 1 and rotating it, the ink liquid film 30 corresponding to the non-image pattern 33 is transferred on the projecting part of the relief printing plate 23 and is removed thereby, and a process wherein the remaining ink liquid film 30 on the cylinder 1 is transferred on the flexible substrate 3 and is printed.
